Welcome To

Schoenmaker Legal

Schoenmaker Legal was established in 2016 by William Schoenmaker, solicitor in family law with over 25 years experience in the industry. The practice is conveniently located near Central Railway Station in Springhill, Brisbane. At Schoenmaker Legal, the emphasis is to offer clients out-of-court resolutions by exploring all avenues of negotiation, which provides a more time efficient and cost-friendly solution.

We understand that as family law clients, you come to us during a very difficult period, which is why we pride ourselves with working closely with our clients, showing compassion and being with them every step of the way to a positive solution.

About Me

My name is William Schoenmaker, the principal and sole-practioner of Schoenmaker Legal. I have over 25 years experience as a solicitor, with the last 13 years being devoted almost exclusively to family law. I have always been interest in legal issues where I can assist my clients on a personal level which has brought me to practice in this area of the law.

I derive an immense amount of satisfaction in being able to resolve issues for my clients without the need for expensive court battles. Many of my clients have young children and by avoiding the animosity that is typically generated in going to court, will be able to better coparent their children in the years ahead upon resolving their issues amicably.

I am also able to assist my clients in the preperation of their wills and enduring powers of attorney. These are essential not only in respect to their ongoing review, but particulary where couples seperate and ultimately divorce.

I have chosen to maintain a small practice so as to be able to assist my clients in a friendly and personal manner and at the same time do this in a cost effective way.

I have also found satisfaction in volunteering at the Caxton Legal Centre on a regular basis, which I have done for the 10 years. I present seminars to small groups at Men Exploring New Directional Strategies (MENDS).

My hobbies include cycling (which I do every day as a means of getting me to and from my office, as well as on weekends). I have participated in rides for charity including the Ride to Conquer Cancer for cancer research, Brisbane to The Bay for Multiple Sclerosis, as well as Brisbane to the Gold Coast ride to raise funds for the Heart Foundation, which I have done over several years.

I am also a keen renovation enthusiast in the restoration of cars and houses. There is nothing like learning on the job.
